Nicole M. Denow

Nicole regularly advises K-12 and community college districts regarding labor and employment matters, ethics and public records act matters. She frequently represents clients in administrative forums including arbitrations, discipline hearings, and before state and federal agencies. In addition, Nicole is an experienced investigator who conducts investigations into allegations of discrimination, harassment, and other employment-related claims.

Prior to joining Currier & Hudson, Nicole worked as an attorney supervisor and in-house counsel for a state environmental agency, handling employment law, ethics, environmental, risk management and advertising related matters. She represented the agency in proceedings before various administrative tribunals, provided advice and counsel regarding employee disciplinary and performance issues, assisted in the development of agency policy and conducted various trainings, including harassment prevention, ethics seminars and training relating to law enforcement background investigations.

Nicole also worked as an associate attorney at a civil litigation firm in Los Angeles where she represented clients in a broad range of employment law matters, including federal and state employment litigation, labor relations, affirmative action and mediations, and provided advice and counsel to human resources professionals regarding handbooks, policy development and other employee relations issues.  Nicole also served as a federal law clerk to the Honorable Jeffrey W. Johnson in the Central District of California for two years and worked as an international legal officer for the United Nations Mission in Kosovo.

Nicole graduated cum laude from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 2001, and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, with honors, from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1998.
